Shanghai 30's, OxfordThe Name Shanghai means ‘on the sea’ and the city lies on the east coast of China, just south of the Yangtza river.

In the 1930’s, Shanghai was called the ‘Paris of the Orient’. It was a city of shows, restaurants, clubs and gambling – certainly somewhere it was hard to feel lonely. People from all over the world were throwing themselves into Shanghai parties.

Shanghai 30’s is located in the heart of Oxford. We are opposite the great universities that make Oxford a worldwide known destination. We are close to all major attractions and have great links to public transport.
